CARFAC Sask Student Member Exhibition Application

CARFAC Sask Student Members are invited to send in proposals for a collaborative group exhibition (4-6 people).

The selected proposal will be exhibited for 2 weeks at the Fifth Parallel Gallery, student-run gallery at the University of Regina in Spring/Summer (May-August).

Participating artists will be paid an exhibition fee based on the CARFAC-RAAV Recommended Fee Schedule after a successful exhibition (see Section A.1.3 Group Exhibitions).

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be a current CARFAC Sask Student Member to be considered.

Please note, successful applicants must be available to install and take down the works in person.

EXHIBITION INFORMATION

The following section relates to your group exhibition proposal. Please make sure you follow the provided guidelines.

Short Description for Publication (max 70 words)

This will be used for publicizing your exhibition on the websites, to group emails, social media, and in publications. This is to give the public an idea of what your work will look like, and what it is about, and you can still exercise creativity. As well as assist gallery staff in creating promotional products for your exhibition.

Exhibition Statement (max 500 words)

A statement to explain all relevant processes, materials, philosophies, histories, concepts etc. pertaining to the group's current work and artistic goals. There is no correct way of writing an Artist Statement, but it should give the reader a good idea of the direction of the group's work. For group shows, the Artist Statement should be written on behalf of the proposed exhibition.

Letter of Intent (max 500 words)

This is a more technical document that should clearly explain what exactly you intend to do to the space. It will relate to the Artist Statement without repeating it, indicating all technical specifications i.e. plinths, lighting, a/v equipment, etc. You may also address how you will achieve the work, how it is intended to affect an audience, and why the space in particular is appropriate.

SUPPORT MATERIALS

The following section is about Support Materials such as: - images of proposed work or past work (for reference) - sketches of proposed work / unfinished works - floor plan layout; etc.
