The Prairie Webinar Series is proud to prioritize the expertise of artists working in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, promoting discussion with our provincial neighbours on various topics while sharing investment in prairie perspectives. The formula is simple: look forward to two 25-minute presentations from two artists speaking to their practice and their experience with a given discussion topic, followed by a 30-minute Q&A period.

BREANNE BANDUR (b. 1993, Simcoe, Ontario) is an emerging visual artist based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Breanne holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from Dawson College (Montreal, Quebec, 2012), a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design University (Halifax, Nova Scotia, 2015), and an MFA from the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, 2021).
Breanne creates large-scale, abstract, mixed-media drawings on paper that engage in the complexities of formal visual art language, as well as a wide range of material exploration. Her practice is rooted in an understanding of drawing as a process-based art form with strong ties to intuition, as well as ways of knowing, feeling, and being.
Complimenting formal, material, and process-based interests are other interests which inform Breanne’s practice and evidence themselves in her work, such as: autobiography, the body and embodiment, experience, sensation, perception, and illusion. A philosophical outlook on the meeting place between the material, the visual, and the experiential is central to her artistic approach.
Continually within her practice, Breanne seeks to question and push her comfort zones, exploring the various ways in which something can be worked through, expressed, experienced, and understood. Through her studio practice, she pursues avenues that consider that which both the body and mind carry, and attempts to innovatively expand upon the ways in which these can be translated to and represented within formal visual art language.
